Impact Jackets and Shoes Donation 2.jpg

At the conclusion of his message “Help Wanted: Poverty” Pastor Jeff Johnson issued a challenge to everyone present - to take off jackets / coats and shoes and leave them at the altar in order to donate them to the poor and homeless.

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
~ Matthew 25:31-40 (ESV)

8 Bear fruits in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham. 9 Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”10 And the crowds asked him, “What then shall we do?” 11 And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
~ Luke 3:8-11 (ESV)

The disciples at Impact responded overwhelmingly! A couple hundreds jackets / coats were donated, as well as 50 to 60 pairs of shoes,…and these were right off of people’s backs and feet. Well done good and faithful servants!

We also want to share some Facebook posts from Lyle Coleman and Hope Sack Ministries:

HOPE SACK MINISTRIES..…Dippin thru the hood with my car overflowing. Oh yeah my back seat has over 50 jackets. IMPACT CHURCH MENIFEE = LOVE of CHRIST.

Be sure to watch Lyle’s video:

All pics taken from 5am--5pm today. There were many others I didn't get flicks with. Highlight was the guy sitting by himself. I was able to give him new shoes and socks cuz his were falling apart. Then he got a bag full of food, water, and hygiene stuff. Plus he got to pick out whatever he wanted from Subway. Foot long meatball. IMPACT CHURCH MENIFEE this is some fruits of your offering.

Lyle - well done good and faithful servant!
