Divorce is all-too-common in our world today. Nearly half of all marriages end in divorce, but these statistics don’t account for those who remain legally married, but divorced in their heart and mind long ago. For these, marriage has become a prison from which there is no escape. But there is hope. We must return to God’s heart for marriage, recapturing what it means to become “one flesh” and to love unconditionally. We must hold fast to our spouse and let go of our own idea of “happily ever after.” We must stop looking to tear apart what God has joined together because our needs aren’t being met like we want them to be met. We must start fighting for the very thing Christ died for: LOVE.
