Life – like the sea – stretches out toward a horizon that is always in front of us, yet usually seems distant. Every ripple and wave is another moment of time that passes us by. Life is also filled with uncertainty and can bring many storms. We do our best to build boats for ourselves, systems and structures that give us a sense of security and help us weather the storm. Eventually, though, we realize our boat is inadequate. In those moments when life seems to have it out for us, we must look up. Jesus is near. He takes our greatest fears and places them beneath His feet. The Resurrection proved once and for all that even Death has been placed under His authority. He rose so that we might rise – so that we might walk in newness of Life and Freedom. Do you hear Him speaking to you? “It’s Me. Don’t be afraid.” If so, take Him in!
