This world is made up 6 billion broken pieces, all trying to make themselves whole. Everyone is trying to be better than they are, trying to prove they’re strong and capable. We’re all trying to make something of ourselves. Then Jesus – the Almighty Creator of all things – comes along and chooses to make nothing of Himself…as an example for us to follow. Jesus willingly lived in dependence upon the Father during His life on earth. We’re so busy doing so many things, but how much of it has God really asked us to do? There is so much that we take upon ourselves that we need to leave to Jesus. We try to move ourselves from death to life through moral performance and religious practice. We judge others in an effort to feel better about who we are, but never grab hold of the honor we hope for. Rest and health is found when we finally stop trying to be God’s perfect child, and realize that His perfect Son already walked this earth. When we place our faith in Him, His perfection becomes ours, and we finally find the peace and wholeness we’ve been searching for.
